Sopot off season – five reasons to come in autumn
An empty beach, golden light and a pier without the crowds. Autumn by the bay has its own calm rhythm.
In summer Sopot is loud and colourful. In autumn it changes character: the pier empties, the beach belongs to walkers, and the light at sunset turns thick and golden.
1. The beach to yourself
September and October are the best time for long walks along the shore. The bay still holds the warmth of summer and the sand no longer burns your feet.
2. The pier without queues
The longest wooden pier in Europe is almost empty in the morning. That is when you hear the sea best.
3. Calmer prices
Outside peak season a stay costs noticeably less, and the standard stays the same.
4. Tricity within reach
Commuter trains take you from Sopot to Gdańsk and Gdynia in about fifteen minutes. Sightseeing is more pleasant in autumn.
5. The terrace at golden hour
Autumn sunsets from the rooftop terrace are the best of the whole year – the air is clearer and the colours deeper.
